Are we tested on what we know?

Or what we remember?

If we don't remember, do we actually know it? We may know it after we jog our memory by an outside source. But by not remembering, it can mean that we don't know it at that precise moment. Can't it?

Hence, being tested on what we know, and what we remember is actually the same thing?
